We Help School Gardens Grow
Engage. Teach. Grow. Empower.
Let Learning Take Root
We bring vibrant school gardens to life across the Triangle, NC.
Spaces where kids can move, learn, taste, and thrive.
Who We Are
School gardens can change everything.
At School Garden Foundation, a North Carolina nonprofit, we help schools and child-care centers create thriving gardens and use them to teach, nourish, and inspire.
Our programs support physical, mental, and environmental health by connecting kids with real food, hands-on learning, and the wonder of nature.
School gardens are full of possibility, but starting one is only the beginning. We help schools and child-care centers get gardens growing, bring unused gardens back to life, and build the support systems that keep them going.
Our goal is to make garden-based learning doable without adding another burden to teachers and staff.
“We believe that when children learn to care for a garden,
they also learn to care for themselves, their communities, and the planet.”
What We Do
How We Help
🌱 Start - Turn an idea or empty space into a working garden. We provide planning, planting, materials, and hands-on support to get growing
🌿Revive – Bring an unused garden back to life. We help schools and child-care centers reclaim empty, overgrown, or struggling garden spaces
🔄Sustain – Keep a garden growing year after year. Seasonal planning, resources, volunteers, and ongoing support to make gardens easier to maintain
